Biography
In 2009 Wagner Trindade came to the United States, where he was awarded a scholarship to Western Oregon University and enrolled in the Masters of Music program. Although his studies have kept him very busy, Wagner has been performing with school-related ensembles, his own trio Dialeto Brasileiro, and with artists such as Lizz Wright, Allen Toussaint, Nancy King, Lynn Anderson, Mentor Williams, Sherry Alves, Art Lillard, Renato Caranto, Mel Brown, Gordon Lee, Steve Christofferson, Bill Hughes, Don Latarski, Jason Palmer, Keller Coker, Tom Bergeron, Christopher Woitach and the American Metropole Orchestra.He attended the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State), where he received his Bachelors Degree in music with a specialization in arrangement for Brazilian Popular Music. In 2011 he received the degree of Master of Music in Contemporary Music, and several awards such as Outstanding Artistic Achievement, Western Hemisphere Orchestra Outstanding Member, Western Hemisphere Orchestra Outstanding Member and Composer. He has also established himself as an arranger, composer and performer on recording projects, as well as with his own trio, Dialeto Brasileiro which he formed with Cassio Vianna (piano) and Claudio Felix (drums).

Cds Dialeto Brasileiro is a trio formed in mid-2002 by Wagner Trindade in the city of São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They have performed successfully in the MPB in São Domingos project sponsored by the Niterói City Hall Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; at Rios Centro Cultural da Justiça Federal; on the program Atitude.com on the TVE Channel; in the Cascavel Jazz Festival in Curitiba, Paraná and at the First Baptist Church of Curitiba. From 2006 to 2009 the group had been playing weekly at Patio Havana, a well-known night spot in the resort town of Búzios. In the US the trio has performed widely including at Western Oregon University and the Silverton Jazz Festival. They released their first album, No Caminho. The album's special guests include Armando Marçal on percussion (Pat Metheny, João Bosco) Cláudio Nucci (Boca Livre) and Fátima Regina on vocals, Liandro Goes on saxophone and Robson Verissimo on guitar.Produced by Cassio Vianna and Wagner Trindade, this album reveals the band's musical influences and its love for Brazilian music. The album has 8 original compositions and 2 classic bossa novas: Você e Eu and A Felicidade, a special homage to the great Brazilian composers Tom Jobim, Vinícius de Morais and Carlos Lyra, for the 50th anniversary of bossa nova in 2008.The band's line-up is: Cassio Vianna (piano, keyboard and melodica), Wagner Soares (electric bass) and Cláudio Felix (drums).
